Tabin was declared a wildlife reserve in order to protect its large numbers of animals and birds, many of which are endemic and endangered. Amongst these is the most endangered of the world’s rhinos, the Bornean sub-species of the Sumatran Rhinoceros. Tabin is believed to have the largest remaining population of this critically endangered mammal, and a captive breeding programme is now underway to help ensure its continued existence. This 6D5N program combines a comfortable stay at the charming Tabin Wildlife Resort with 3-day, 2-night Rhino Conservation Programme, where you will help gathering data on the Sumatran Rhino deep in the virgin rainforest of Tabin Wildlife Reserve.
